USPI Christus Cabrini Surgery Center is seeking an experienced PRN Pre-Op PACU LPN/RN to join our team. Christus Cabrini Surgery Center is a fast paced surgery center environment committed to producing the highest quality work and experience for patients and their families. 

  • Assess, instruct and prepare patients prior to surgery
  • Take and record vital statistics of patients to ensure readiness for surgical procedure
  • Initiate IVs and ensure patients are informed about procedure
  • Log and chart all findings in patient files
  • Monitor patients for condition changes, reporting any changes

Required Skills

  • Must be a Nurse (LPN or RN) with an unrestricted license in LA
  • Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Must have at least 1-3 years' previous experience in Pre Op
  • Advanced IV skills
  • Previous experience in an ambulatory surgical center strongly preferred
  • Must have current BLS
  • Must possess a strong knowledge of surgical procedures and management of the surgical patient
  • Understanding of aseptic techniques and their implementation
  • Ability to quickly adapt to changing condition of the patient when needed
  • Must be an excellent team player and have the ability to communicate with staff, patients and physicians.
