Job Summary
We’re seeking a per-diem Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN OR) to join our surgical team. In this role, you’ll support the OR team in delivering high-quality surgical care on an as-needed basis. We’re looking for a clinically strong, flexible nurse who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and is committed to patient safety and satisfaction.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care before, during, and after surgical procedures
  • Conduct patient assessments and respond to their physical and emotional needs
  • Ensure compliance with AORN standards and facility protocols
  • Communicate effectively with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and fellow team members
  • Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to regulatory and safety requirements
  • Demonstrate adaptability in managing shifting priorities and procedure types
  • Stay current with required competencies, licensure, and certifications

Required Skills

  • Strong clinical knowledge and critical thinking ability
  • Excellent communication skills with patients, families, physicians, and staff
  • Ability to prioritize, multitask, and adapt in a dynamic OR environment
  • Familiarity with AORN standards and OR best practices
  • Comfortable working with pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients

Required Experience

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program
  • Current Texas RN license (unencumbered)
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in an OR setting
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
  • CNOR certification preferred
