Help facilitate the safe, efficient admission of pre-operative patients

May have additional responsibilities as designated by the manager, which include, but are not limited to, serving on committees, participating in quality improvement audits, and projects.

a)    Supports the facility’s ideology, mission, goals, and objectives

b)    Performs in accordance with the facility’s policies and procedures

c)    Conducts self as a positive role model and team member

d)    Recognizes patients’ rights and responsibilities and supports them in performance or job

e)    Participates in facility committees, meetings, and in-service

f)     Communicates effectively and professionally with patients, visitors, physicians, and coworkers

g)    Interacts with others in a positive, respectful, and considerate manner

h)    Effectively organizes time, equipment, supplies, and personnel

i)      Uses equipment effectively by anticipating patient needs and providing appropriate care

j)      Uses facility resources appropriately and avoids wasteful practices

k)    Analyzes work area and makes recommendations for potential cost-effective improvements

l)      Adheres to safety policies and procedures in performing job duties and responsibilities

m)   Reports observed or suspected safety violations, hazards, and policy/procedure noncompliance to the safety officer or other designated person

n)    Participates in continuing education and other learning experiences

o)    Shares knowledge gained in continuing education with staff

p)    Obtain and record vital signs and weight (pound and kg)

q)    Assist patient to stretcher, help patient change into gown if needed

r)     Prep and shave the appropriate surgical site

s)     Stock supplies and block cart

t)     Clean stretchers and move into pre-op area

High school diploma or GED certificate. 

BLS certification.
