Responsible for a wide variety of complex and routine functions in all areas of human resources including recruitment, workers compensation, HRIS administration, legal compliance, staff relations, orientation and development, compensation and benefits. Ensures compliance with federal, state and local laws and regulations. Participates in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement (C QI) activities.
Hours: Full Time 8 hours (Exempt)
Salary Range: $45.67 - $57.69
Required Skills
Minimum Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Human Resource Management, Business Administration or equivalent
- 5+ years of management experience in human resource functions to include employee relations, recruitment, talent development
- Strong leadership skills as well as effective consultative skills, high integrity and sound business judgment
- Experience with organization development in a fast paced environment
- Experience in healthcare leadership preferred
Required License and Certification
- SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP and/or PHR/SPHR certification preferred
Required Skills
- Knowledge of relevant federal, state and local regulations relating to Human Resources, i.e. Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Affirmative Action, ADA, FMLA.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to demonstrate clear oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to effectively plan and prioritize work.
- Ability to maintain collaborative working relationships to ensure a positive and productive work environment.
- Ability to provide exceptional customer service.
- Excellent presentation skills.
- PC competency, working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (Word/Excel).
- Experience with an HRIS preferred.
Essential Functions
- Assumes the responsibility for successfully complying with federal, state and local employment laws, immigration legislation and EEO goals.
- Attends facility meetings, prepares reports and analyzes and provides recommendations in a timely and accurate manner.
- Conducts exit interviews; provides summaries to department managers.
- Assists with development and implementation of policies and procedures for recruitment.
- Assists with development and maintenance of job descriptions for the facility.
- Ensures annual Corporate Compliance and HIPAA are completed annually by employees within regulation guidelines.
- Explains/provides termination information, answers questions.
- Interacts with department directors/managers on a wide range of staff performance issues, evaluations, merit recommendations and disciplinary action.
- Interviews and refers qualified applicants to department managers.
- Maintains a sensitive, fair and impartial approach to dealing with employees.
- Maintains employee confidentiality.
- Maintains thorough documentation.
- Assists with mediating conflicts between employees and management to resolve misunderstandings, facilitates communication to promote effective working relationships.
- Participates in departments performance improvement and continuous quality improvement (CQI) activities.
- Processes and reviews Workers Compensation claims. Reviews and approves leaves of absence requests; reviews part-time schedule requests.
- Uses accurate, clear and concise oral and written communication.
- Works with CHRO to determine salaries, compensation issues and other human resource policies and procedures.
- Participates in benefits administration; enrollment, educating employees, processing of changes, etc..
- Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions)
- Other duties as assigned
