Same Day Surgery Center of Central Jersey has an immediate need for a part time Materials/Sugery Center Assistant! Job Summary: The Materials Assistant will support the procurement, inventory, and distribution of surgical and medical supplies. This role is essential in maintaining supply chain efficiency, ensuring the availability of necessary materials, and assisting in cost-effective purchasing for the facility.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in ordering, receiving, and stocking medical and surgical supplies.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and conduct regular audits to track supply levels.
  • Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement.
  • Monitor and manage supply usage, identifying opportunities for cost savings.
  • Assist in organizing and maintaining the storage areas for optimal efficiency.
  • Work closely with the Materials Manager to ensure compliance with facility policies and regulations.
  • Process invoices, purchase orders, and related documentation accurately and promptly.
  • Support clinical and administrative staff with supply-related inquiries and requests.
  • Ensure proper disposal of expired or damaged supplies in accordance with regulations.

Required Skills

  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in inventory management.
  • Basic knowledge of supply chain and purchasing processes in a healthcare setting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and inventory management systems.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to lift and move supplies as needed (up to 50 lbs).
