Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Insurance Verifier & Surgery Scheduler to join our team. This dual-role position will be responsible for verifying insurance coverage and scheduling surgeries to ensure a smooth and efficient patient experience. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with excellent communication skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, and the flexibility to open our center at 5:30 AM most days.

Key Responsibilities:

Medical Insurance Verification:

  • Verify patient insurance coverage for surgical procedures, ensuring accurate benefits information.

  • Coordinate with insurance providers to confirm coverage, pre-authorizations, and eligibility.

  • Communicate with patients regarding insurance benefits and financial responsibilities.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date insurance records in the system.

  • Resolve any discrepancies in insurance coverage and ensure proper documentation is on file.

Surgery Scheduling:

  • Coordinate with physicians, patients, and medical staff to schedule surgeries in accordance with availability and patient needs.

  • Ensure that all necessary pre-operative documentation (e.g., medical records, lab work) is in place before scheduling surgeries.

  • Work closely with the clinical team to ensure surgery dates align with physician schedules and patient preferences.

  • Provide patients with detailed information regarding surgery preparation, insurance coverage, and post-operative instructions.

  • Coordinate with the surgical team to ensure all necessary resources and equipment are available for scheduled procedures.

Center Opening & Administrative Support:

  • Open the center promptly at 5:30 AM, ensuring all administrative systems are set up and ready for the day.

  • Greet and assist patients with any initial paperwork or questions.

  • Provide general administrative support to ensure smooth daily operations.


Required Skills

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred).

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical insurance verification and/or surgery scheduling.

  • Knowledge of medical insurance terminology, coverage types, and pre-authorization procedures.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) and scheduling software.

  • Ability to handle sensitive patient information with discretion and professionalism.

  • Must be available to open the center at 5:30 AM and adjust to varying schedules as needed.

  • Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team.
