POSITION SUMMARY:

The Clinical Director is responsible for overseeing and developing the ambulatory surgical center’s clinical departments through key tasks such as hiring, evaluating, mentoring, scheduling, and supervision. We seek a professional with proven but flexible strategies to allow for continued growth for the business. A Clinical Director should be able to solve problems quickly and effectively using excellent critical thinking skills with emotional intelligence to deal with staff at all levels within the organization.

Job Duties and Responsibilities: Include the following. Other duties may be assigned: 

  • Ensures that Standard Universal Precautions, the National Patient Safety Goals, and principles of aseptic and sterile technique are used appropriately.
  • Implements safe practices and provides knowledgeable guidance and evaluation of the environment of care management, including life safety (fire prevention), security, hazardous materials and waste management, emergency preparedness, infection control, the safe use of medical equipment, and utilities.
  • Annually reviews the effectiveness of the Performance Improvement Plan in writing and submits the annual review and any recommendations for improvement to committees including the MEC and GB.
  • Ensures EDGE™ audits are assigned, educated and entered into the system per the EDGE™ calendar requirements located on USPInSite’s EDGE tab.
  • Develops reports for EGDE™ audits and Risk and Patient Relations entries as well as other audits performed at the facility so that the data can be analyzed and acted upon as needed.

 

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing
  • Active RN license in the state (WI)
  • CPR & ACLS required 
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in PreOp/PACU, Med/Surg or Critical Care. Previous experience working in an ambulatory surgical setting preferred. 
  • One year leadership experience required intra-operative setting. 
  • Demonstrates clinical competency, leadership, and teaching capabilities. Physically and emotionally capable of performing responsibilities of position.
  • Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment
  • Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet the needs of patients and the unit
  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written
