Job Summary:

TOPS Specialty Surgical Hospital is seeking a Pharmacy Manager to oversee all aspects of medication management and pharmacy operations. This role will ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, maintain medication safety and inventory, and collaborate with medical staff to optimize patient care. The ideal candidate will bring leadership experience in a hospital or surgical setting, a strong understanding of pharmacy regulations, and a passion for enhancing patient outcomes.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the pharmacy, ensuring safe and effective medication use.
  • Develop and implement pharmacy policies, procedures, and quality assurance programs.
  • Ensure compliance with all state, federal, and regulatory requirements, including The Joint Commission (TJC), DEA, and FDA.
  • Manage medication inventory, ordering, and storage to prevent shortages or waste.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and clinical teams to provide medication recommendations and support patient care plans.
  • Lead and supervise pharmacy staff, ensuring a high level of efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Monitor medication safety initiatives, including adverse drug reaction tracking and medication error prevention.
  • Provide education and training to clinical teams on medication management best practices.
  • Analyze medication usage trends, optimize formulary management, and assist with cost-control strategies.
  • Maintain accurate pharmacy records and documentation in compliance with hospital policies and regulations.

Required Experience

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of hospital or surgical pharmacy experience required.
  • Prior leadership or management experience in a pharmacy setting preferred.
  • Experience with controlled substances management and regulatory audits is a plus.
