Position Summary:
The Regional Clinical Director of Nursing is responsible for overseeing the clinical operations and nursing staff at the Urology Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) of Phoenix. This positions includes overseeing SurgCenter of Deer Valley, Urology ASC - Phoenix, Urology ASC - Perimeter, Urology ASC - Downtown. This role will provide leadership and management to ensure high-quality patient care, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance across multiple clinical locations within the regional network. The Director will collaborate closely with physicians, administrative leaders, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes and clinical performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Management:
- Lead, mentor, and manage clinical nursing teams at the Urology ASC of Phoenix, ensuring a collaborative and positive work environment.
- Provide guidance and support to the nursing staff, fostering professional development and high standards of nursing practice.
- Oversee staff scheduling, staffing levels, and assignment of responsibilities in alignment with the needs of the center.
- Clinical Operations:
- Ensure the delivery of high-quality, safe, and compassionate patient care in accordance with Urology ASC protocols and best practices.
- Implement and evaluate clinical workflows, ensuring efficient patient throughput and minimizing delays.
- Maintain oversight of nursing protocols, policies, and procedures, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as industry standards.
- Quality Assurance & Compliance:
- Oversee the implementation of infection control and safety practices to meet or exceed regulatory requirements.
- Lead quality improvement initiatives to enhance clinical outcomes, patient satisfaction, and operational efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, and state regulations, and maintain readiness for accreditation reviews or surveys.
- Collaboration & Communication:
- Collaborate with the physician leadership team to ensure effective coordination of patient care within the urology specialty.
- Communicate regularly with center leadership, providing updates on clinical operations, staffing, and patient care initiatives.
- Serve as a liaison between clinical staff and the administrative team to address operational issues and implement improvements.
- Training & Development:
- Oversee the onboarding, training, and continuing education of nursing staff, ensuring that all clinical personnel are proficient in the latest urology nursing practices and technologies.
- Promote evidence-based practice and continuous learning opportunities for nursing staff.
- Develop and lead ongoing education programs to ensure clinical staff remains current with evolving standards of care.
- Patient Care & Satisfaction:
- Ensure a patient-centered approach to care, with an emphasis on compassionate, timely, and personalized treatment.
- Actively monitor patient satisfaction surveys and implement initiatives to improve the overall patient experience.
- Address patient concerns, complaints, and issues in a professional, empathetic manner, resolving problems promptly.
Required Skills
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Registered Nurse (RN) with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN) or healthcare-related field preferred.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of clinical nursing experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role in a healthcare setting, preferably in a surgical or ambulatory care environment.
- Experience in urology or related specialties is strongly preferred.
- Previous experience working in an Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) is highly desirable.
- Licenses/Certifications:
- Current RN license in the state of Arizona.
- Certification in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Certification in Nursing Administration or relevant clinical certifications preferred.
- Skills & Abilities:
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- In-depth knowledge of nursing standards, urology clinical practices, and ASC operations.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in using healthcare management software and electronic health records (EHR).
- Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams and build strong working relationships with physicians and staff.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods.
- Ability to lift or assist in the lifting of patients when necessary.
- Ability to work under stressful conditions and handle emergency situations as they arise.
