Preop/PACU Charge Nurse at Baylor Surgicare at Plano

The RN Preop/PACU Charge Nurse is responsible for preparation of daily staffing schedule for the Preop/PACU areas based on the needs of the day.  Collaborates with Clinical Manager to facilitate daily operational flow.  Provides input and feedback to Clinical Manager for staff performance evaluations and competencies.   Plans, coordinates, and oversees care for patients of any age in Preop/PACU department.  Provides care within nursing standards of practice and the policies of the Center.  Makes decisions regarding direct patient care needs and communicates appropriate information to other team members.  May have additional responsibilities as designated by the clinical manager, which include, but are not limited to, serving on committees, participating in quality improvement audits, and projects.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an approved school of nursing.
  • Currently licensed in the state of Texas
  • CPR required, advanced life support certification & PALS required.
  • Two year experience required intra-operative setting.
  • Demonstrates clinical competency, leadership, and teaching capabilities.
  • Physically and emotionally capable of performing responsibilities of position.
