USPI El Mirador Surgery Center is seeking a motivated Transporter. We have 6 OR rooms and 2 Treatment rooms. With outpatient services performed in Cardiology, Cosmetic, Gastroenterology/GI, General Surgery, Gynecology, Ophthalmology, Orthopedic, Otolaryngology, Pain Management, Podiatry, Urology. Position requires weekdays only -- no holidays, weekends, or call. Some early mornings and later evenings may be required; schedule subject to change based on surgical schedule and flow of the day.

Job Summary:

Help patients by transporting them into, around, and out of the health care organization.

Job Duties:

Transports patients by assisting patients to the car via wheelchair; lifting patients on and off stretchers and recliners.

Comforts patients and their families by offering support and encouragement; being punctual and attentive to procedure schedules; demonstrating caring and cultural sensitivity.

Transports equipment and supplies and deliver them to assigned treatment areas and patient care areas.

Cleans and prepares stretchers, recliners, and wheelchairs for patient use.

Assists Material Manager with unpacking and stocking medical supplies.

Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures.

Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.

Enhance health care organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests, exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

Restocking, maintaining and organizing medical supplies in the PreOP/PACU areas.

Assisting with Computer Data Entry of patient charts.

Hourly Range: $23 - $26/ hour

Wages are determined based upon a number of factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications and experience.

Required Skills

Qualifications:
High School or equivalent GED
One-year transporting experience required
Sterile Processing Tech experience preferred
CPR certificate
Maintains effective communication with patients, families and members of the health care team
Standing for long periods of time
Lifting up to 50 lbs.
Pulling and pushing carts, stretcher
Stooping and stretching
