Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Surgical Technologist to join our operating room team. The Surgical Technologist is responsible for assisting surgeons during procedures, ensuring a sterile environment, and maintaining surgical equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of surgical procedures, aseptic techniques, and patient safety protocols.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare operating rooms with necessary equipment, instruments, and supplies.
  • Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and supplies.
  • Maintain a sterile field and adhere to strict aseptic techniques.
  • Anticipate the needs of the surgical team to ensure a smooth and efficient procedure.
  • Handle and care for surgical instruments properly to prevent damage.
  • Monitor and maintain an accurate count of instruments, sponges, and supplies before, during, and after procedures.
  • Follow infection control policies and safety procedures to protect patients and staff.
  • Collaborate with nurses and other surgical team members to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Assist with room turnover and sterilization processes between cases.

Required Skills

  • Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and instrumentation.
  • Proficiency in aseptic and sterile techniques.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing patient conditions and surgical needs.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Required Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program OR a minimum of two years of surgical technologist experience.
  • Previous experience in an ambulatory surgery center preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience with surgical procedures (eye procedures preferred).
  • Certification as a Surgical Technologist preferred.
