Our state-of-the-art facility has five operating rooms and one procedure room, allowing surgeons to perform procedures in the specialty areas of:

Anesthesia, Gynecology, Orthopedic, Orthopedic Foot & Ankle, Pain Management, Plastic Surgery, Podiatry, General, and Spinal Surgery.

No on-call or holiday hours required.

Job Summary:

The Surgical Technician anticipates the needs of the surgical team and establishes and maintains a sterile field during procedures in the operating room. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure sterility of all supplies and instruments during set-up of surgical procedures.

  • Assist circulating nurse and surgical team in maintaining a sterile environment.

  • Gather necessary surgical supplies and equipment.

  • Perform sponge, needle, and instrument counts pre-operatively and intra-operatively with the circulating nurse.

  • Gown and glove surgeons and assistants.

  • Keep physician preference cards accurate and updated.

  • Retain all specimens for pathology, confirming source and name with the surgeon.

  • Transport surgical equipment to cleaning areas and assist with instrument reprocessing.

  • Interact professionally and effectively with patients, visitors, and healthcare team members.

  • Follow Standard Universal Precautions, infection control protocols, and safety guidelines.

  • Serve as a resource to other members of the healthcare team.

  • Maintain required certifications such as CPR.

  • Act in accordance with the vision, mission, and business philosophy of the Center.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program (required)

  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) (preferred)

  • 1+ years of experience in an operating room setting (preferred)

  • Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and instrumentation

  • Ability to multi-task and adapt to changing surgical needs
