We are seeking a STERILE PROCESSING TECHNICIAN to join our staff.
Resurgens Fayette is a single-specialty orthopedic surgery practice.
These important job-specific job duties for these technicians may include:
- Cleaning and sterilizing equipment
- Packaging and/or preparing equipment for use
- Operating medical equipment as needed
- Inspecting medical equipment for functionality and sterilization
- Maintaining inventory of medical equipment
- Ensuring medical procedure rooms are sterile
- Organizing medical equipment
- Transporting prepared equipment
- Recording test results for sterilization
- Using and maintaining autoclaves for sterilization
Required Skills
- Must be a Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- 2-3 years experience as Instrument Room Technician.
- Experience with all types of sterilizers.
- Knows operating room instrumentation.
- Organized in setting up operating room instrument tray.
- Understands operation of steam/ gravity sterilizer.
- Understands Sterrad sterilizers.
- Ability to prepare reports and keep records.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and departmental supply items is required.
Required Experience
* 1 year of central sterile processing in an acute setting
* IAHCSMM certification or similar national certification
