Full-time: Operating Room Registered Nurse
Western Carolina Surgery Center, a leading multispecialty surgery center in Fletcher, NC, is seeking a skilled and dedicated Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team on a full-time basis. As an integral member of our surgical team, you will contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care in a state-of-the-art operating room environment.
Responsibilities:
- Patient Care:
- Provide expert nursing care to patients throughout the perioperative period, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to maintain a sterile and efficient operating room environment.
- Preoperative Preparation:
- Conduct thorough preoperative assessments, verifying patient information and obtaining informed consent.
- Assist in preparing patients for surgery, addressing their questions and concerns.
- Intraoperative Assistance:
- Assist surgeons and other team members during surgical procedures, anticipating their needs and maintaining aseptic techniques.
- Monitor patient vital signs, administer medications, and coordinate with anesthesia providers.
- Instrumentation and Sterilization:
- Manage surgical instruments, ensuring proper sterilization and availability.
- Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a clean and organized operating room.
- Documentation:
- Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient care, interventions, and outcomes.
- Adhere to regulatory standards and document according to established policies.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, including surgeons, anesthesia providers, and surgical technologists.
- Communicate effectively with team members to optimize workflow and ensure seamless patient care.

Required Skills
- Current RN license in the state of North Carolina.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as an OR RN in a surgical setting.
- BLS and ACLS certifications required.
- Proficient knowledge of perioperative nursing principles and practices.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced surgical environment.
