Full-Time: Insurance Collector Specialist
Middle Tennessee Ambulatory Center performs a broad range of outpatient surgical procedures. Our mission is to care for every patient and their family as if they were our own. Each patient, each family, each and every time.
Job Summary:
The Collector will be responsible for working the facilities A/R report and collecting money due from the Insurance Company. Fighting for reimbursement of claims processing.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- If billing information in Advantx system is not correct, pull patient chart and make the necessary changes. Correct rejection errors in Zirmed/Waystar.
- An extensive knowledge of claims, reimbursement and collection efforts for Managed Care, Medicare, Medicaid, Workers Comp, Commercial plans, etc.
- Answers and directs incoming calls in an efficient, effective, and professional manner.
- Contact clients and collect outstanding payments.
- Attends BO meetings, center staff meetings and participates on any committees when requested.
- Practices and adheres to all Policies & Procedures set by SSC & USPI/Tenet.

Required Skills
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to work under pressure
- Excellent office etiquette.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Knowledge of the payment processing of a claim under a managed care contract.
- Computer skills.
- Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Ability to foresee problems and be proactive in problem solving.
- Prefer previous experience working with AdvantX. (Patient Accounting System)
- Alertness and adaptability to a change in a situation.
- Holds all patient information confidential.
- Ability to express ideas and views effectively through verbal and written communications.
