Baylor Scott & White Surgicare Garland, is seeking a motivated Certified Surgical Technologist to join our team. Baylor Scott & White Surgicare Garland is a fast paced ASC environment committed to producing the highest quality work and experience for patients and their families.
Job Summary
Assists in providing individualized direct patient care in accordance with site policies and guidelines under the direction of a Registered Nurse in the OR area. The Surgical Technologist scrubs for surgical procedures and demonstrates competence while functioning as a member of the surgical team. Prepares and maintains supplies, instruments and equipment related to these procedures. Supports the philosophy, objectives and goals of the Surgery Center. Supports and participates in quality improvement activities.
Experienced in the following specialties: ENT, General Surgery (Bariatrics), GI, Gynecology, Ophthalmology.

Required Skills
Qualifications:
- Surgical technician will be responsible for the scrub activities related to the care of the patient experiencing an operative or other invasive procedure in an ambulatory surgical center.
- GI/Endoscopy experience is a plus
- Surgical technician will work closely with the OR team in the care of adult & pediatric patients undergoing outpatient ENT, General Surgery (Bariatrics), GI/Endoscopy, Gynecology and Ophthalmology procedures.
- Surgical technician will be responsible for sterile processing.
- Surgical technician will be responsible for the care & processing of flexible endoscopes
- Must possess a strong knowledge of surgical procedures and management of the surgical patient
- Understanding of aseptic techniques and their implementation
- Ability to quickly adapt to changing condition of the patient when needed
- Must be an excellent team player and have the ability to communicate with staff, patients and physicians
Required Experience
Position Requirements:
- Completion of an appropriate surgical technician program
- Previous experience in an ambulatory surgical center strongly preferred
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Certification in Surgical Technology required
- 2 years previous clinical experience in an Operating Room environment is preferred
- Current BLS is required
- General knowledge of policies & procedures specific to the Operating Room
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to work as a team player
- Must be have good manual dexterity & the ability to respond quickly to emergency situations.
- Must be conscientious, self-motivated, organized and possess the ability to multi-task.
- Must stay abreast of new developments in your chosen field.
