Position Overview:

We are currently seeking a PRN PreOp PACU Registered Nurse to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to patients before and after surgery. The PreOp PACU RN will collaborate with the surgical team to ensure a smooth and efficient patient care process. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced RN to contribute to a patient-focused environment and work with a dedicated team of healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct preoperative assessments, including reviewing medical history and ensuring necessary pre-op preparations are completed.
  • Administer medications and anesthesia as directed by the anesthesiologist.
  • Monitor patients during the preoperative and postoperative phases, assessing vital signs and responding to any changes.
  • Provide post-anesthesia care and closely monitor patients in the recovery room.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure a seamless transition between preoperative and postoperative care.
  • Educate patients and their families about postoperative care instructions and recovery expectations.
  • Adhere to all relevant policies, procedures, and safety standards.

Required Skills

  • Current and valid RN license in the state of NC.
  • BLS and ACLS certifications.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a PreOp or postoperative setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Commitment to providing exceptional patient care.
