Pre Op/PACU Registered Nurse Full Time

Job Summary: Plans, coordinates and oversees care for all age patients in pre and post-operative departments. Provides nursing care within prevailing national and state standards of proactive and the policies of the Center. Makes decisions regarding direct patient care needs and communicates appropriate information to other team members May have additional responsibilities as designated by the Clinical Director which include, but are not limited to, providing patient care in other perioperative departments serving on committees, participating in performance improvement audits and projects.

• Current New Jersey Nursing License
• Current CPR, ACLS, and PALS
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• 3 years of experience in ICU, preoperative or PACU setting required
• Experience working in an ASC preferred.
• Ability to recognize, evaluate, solve problems and correct errors.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, hospital staff, physicians, vendors and the public.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Demonstrates accountability, professionalism, openness, receptive to change, creativity and innovative.
• Excellent communication and teaching skills.
• Must be team-oriented and patient-focused.
• Ability to adapt to change quickly, strong knowledge base relative to surgery procedures and management of the surgical patient
• Understands principles of aseptic technique and their implementation
• Ability to care for patients from infancy to geriatrics
• Basic knowledge of Performance Improvement ideology
