Full-Time Pre-Op PACU RN

Bristol Ambulatory Surgery Center is seeking an experienced PreOp PACU RN to join our team FT.  Bristol Ambulatory Surgery Center is a fast paced ASC environment committed to producing the highest quality work and experience for patients and their families. 

 

  • Assess, instruct and prepare patients prior to surgery
  • Take and record vital statistics of patients to ensure readiness for surgical procedure
  • Initiate IVs and ensure patients are informed about procedure
  • Assess patients’ post-operative condition
  • Monitor vital signs and other measurements of progress, meeting discharge criteria
  • Log and chart all findings in patient files
  • Monitor patients for condition changes, reporting any changes to physician
  • Perform intervention duties during postoperative emergencies

Required Skills

  • Must be a Registered Nurse with an unrestricted license in TN
  • Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Must have at least 1-3 years' previous experience in PreOP/PACU
  • Must have current BLS certification
  • Current ACLS certification
  • Must possess a strong knowledge of surgical procedures and management of the surgical patient
  • Understanding of aseptic techniques and their implementation
  • Ability to quickly adapt to changing condition of the patient when needed
  • Must be an excellent team player and have the ability to communicate with staff, patients and physicians.
