Franklin Surgery Center is seeking an experienced Pre-Op PACU RN to join our team PRN. Franklin Surgery Center is a fast paced environment committed to producing the highest quality work and experience for patients and their families. Our center specializes in the surgical procedures: orthopedics, spine, podiatry, ENT, and ophthalmology.

  • Assess, instruct and prepare patients prior to surgery
  • Take and record vital statistics of patients to ensure readiness for surgical procedure
  • Initiate IVs and ensure patients are informed about procedure
  • Assess patients’ post-operative condition
  • Monitor vital signs and other measurements of progress, meeting discharge criteria
  • Log and chart all findings in patient files
  • Monitor patients for condition changes, reporting any changes to physician
  • Perform intervention duties during post-operative emergencies

Required Skills

Qualifications

  • Must be a Registered Nurse with an unrestricted license in TN
  • Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Must have at least 1-3 years' previous experience in Pre and/or post operative care or ICU.
  • Previous experience in an ambulatory surgical center strongly preferred
  • Must have current BLS and ACLS certification
  • Current PALS preferred
  • Must possess a strong knowledge of surgical procedures and management of the surgical patient
  • Understanding of aseptic techniques and their implementation
  • Ability to quickly adapt to changing condition of the patient when needed
  • Must be an excellent team player and have the ability to communicate with staff, patients and physicians.
