USPI Northwest Surgery Center is seeking a motivated Operating Room Nurse to join our team. Conveniently located on the Ascension Seton Northwest Hospital campus. We have 7 OR rooms and 1 Procedure room. We perform outpatient surgical procedures in ENT, General, Ophthalmology, Orthopedic, Pain Management, Podiatry, Urology. We are looking for a candidate to be available Monday-Friday, schedule subject to changed based on surgical schedule and flow of day. Candidate needs to be available for some early mornings and later evenings.

 

Position requires weekdays only -- no holidays, weekends, or call. Some later evenings required.

 

Job Summary: The OR Registered Nurse is responsible for the nursing activities related to care of the patient experiencing an operative or other invasive procedure. The staff member can expect to care for adult patients, including the older adult through geriatric, and pediatric patients from 1 month through adolescence. Our scope of service includes ENT, General, Ophthalmology, Pain Management, Podiatry, Urology

Required Skills

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
  • Two years previous OR experience preferred, will train the right candidate
  • Current TX license as a Registered Nurse
  • Current in CPR, ACLS and PALS
  • Possess the ability to work independently and prioritize responsibilities.
  • Possess the ability to deal tactfully with patients, families, physicians, and employees.
  • Knowledgeable of policies and procedures specific to operating room nurse.
