The Volunteer Specialist coordinates, guides, and facilitates the entire application process for volunteer candidates at PIH Health. Once a volunteer is accepted into the program, the Volunteer Specialist is responsible for proper orientation, and training. The Volunteer Specialist will collaborate with other department’s personnel to coordinate placement and training of a volunteer and ensure all paperwork is returned and documented in a timely manner.

Required Skills
- Ability to think and work independently, strategically and analytically.
- Extensive knowledge of MS office and various software applications.
- Possess excellent communication and organizational skills with the ability to work in complex environments.
- Ability to work effectively with staff and volunteers.
- Ability to demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness with a high attention to detail.
- Interviewing experience.
- Exhibit sound and accurate judgement and respond well under pressure.
- Strong public speaking skills, verbal and written communication skills.
Required Experience
Required:
- High School Diploma/GED.
- Experience in resolving conflict and building partnerships.
- Public speaking experience.
- Extensive knowledge of MS office.
- LA City Fire Card within 6 months of employment (PIHGS Only)
Preferred:
- 1 year of previous experience in hospital volunteer administration and supervision.
- Minimum 1 years of experience in administrative, human resources, or related experience.
- Certified Administrator of Volunteer Services (CAVS).
- Proficiency in the use of a volunteer database, preferably Volgistics.
- Associates degree in related field.
- Bilingual skills in Spanish/Korean.
