The Manager, Benefits oversees the design, implementation, administration, and communication of employee benefit programs for the organization, enterprise wide. This role ensures all plans are administered in compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational objectives while maintaining cost-effectiveness and employee satisfaction. The Manager, Benefits serves as the primary liaison between the organization, external benefit vendors, consultants, and internal departments.

 

This position leads the benefits team, provides strategic input on plan design and total rewards alignment, and ensures effective delivery of benefit programs including health, dental, vision, life, disability, retirement, leave of absence, and wellness initiatives.


Required Skills

  • Deep understanding of healthcare-specific benefits practices
  • Knowledge of state and federal benefit and leave regulations applicable to California healthcare employers (e.g., CFRA, PDL, PFL, Kin Care, ACA)
  • Strong vendor management, contract negotiation, and analytical skills
  • Proficiency with HRIS and benefits platforms
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications 

Required Experience

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in benefits administration
  • Demonstrated experience managing benefit programs for large, diverse workforces with multiple employee classifications (clinical, technical, administrative, and union).

 

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree or professional certification (CEBS, CBP, PHR/SPHR, SHRM-CP/SCP)

Minimum Salary

$104,000.00

Maximum Salary

$156,000.00
