Under the supervision of the Data Control Posting Supervisor, this position is responsible for accurate and timely posting of Charges. The Lead is responsible for ensuring the effective workflow of their assigned area and prioritizing job duties for their team. They perform all tasks efficiently and accurately. Engages in performance improvement activities as needed and serves as a communication facilitator for area of responsibility. Prepares and completes All Charges via Paper or Structured report billing. Accurately executes and balances all other electronic remittances posting jobs to patient accounts. Meets and exceeds the minimum productivity volume, and standards of work as defined within the departmental policies and procedures. Responsible for updating Patient Account related errors/entries including charge capture issues including charge corrections or transfers in Allscripts PM and other systems identified by various departments within PHP. Will also act as liaison between the PHP Charge Entry, Billing Follow up Staff and Supervisor/Director of Department by providing proper communication to both group and to ensure all workflows and processes are executed and performed efficiently.

Required Skills

  • Strong demonstrated leadership and organizational skills
  • Critical thinking attention to detail and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve in a timely manner.
  • Ability to use 10-key calculator, personal computer (PC), FAX machine and on-line computer terminal, Excel and Word. 
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks

  • Sound decision making abilities
  • Understand Charge Entry transactions and good verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Must have good visual acuity and be able to work in a sedentary environment which may include repetitive motion.
  • Ability to learn new systems, become proficient in development of reports via hospital systems and tools provided, proficient in excel and word document.

Required Experience

Required:

  • Successful completion of high school education or GED
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a hospital or Business Office experience.
  • Minimum 1-2 years’ data entry or keypunch experience. 
  • Must be able to handle self in a mature, dependable, conscientious, and honest manner.
