The HR Business Partner I develops solutions to address emerging business needs and meet strategic objectives of the Company under the direction of the Director of Human Resources and VP of Human Resources. This position plays a key role in providing critical support and subject matter consultation to the General Manager, Program Managers, and Project Managers in supporting the mission of Intrepid Human Resources. This position will require close collaboration with HR specialty stakeholders and Corporate Business Support Functions to provide day-to-day support to the staff of the Intrepid lines of Business assigned. The HRBP maintains an effective level of business literacy about the business unit's financial position, its midrange plans, its culture and its competition.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: (not limited to duties as described - performs related duties as requested)
· Coordinates and executes recruitment activities, compensation programs, new hire orientations, employee benefits, and health and safety measures with collaboration through Corporate Human Resource Department to ensure positive employee relations in keeping with Intrepid Global Services objectives.
· Conducts weekly meetings with respective business units.
· Responsible for all Termination Activities for departing employees within assigned Business Unit.
· Process all internal transfers, temporary assignment requests, pay adjustments, merit/promotion adjustments as well as bonus distributions.
· Partner with senior HR members and business leaders to develop a thorough understanding of the requisite business model, the financial outlook and growth plans, organization's core jobs and functions, workforce dynamics, and competitive landscape of market factors.
· Manages, develops and maintains human resources activities, policies and procedures for assigned Business Unit as necessary.
· Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
· Makes presentations and recommendations to management regarding new or existing human resources policies or Initiatives. Ensures fair and equitable application of compensation, hiring and supervisory activities, and other human resources and employee relations policies and practices.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: (or equivalent)
· Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, or a related field. 6-8 year of professional level HR experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
· 2-4 years of diverse experience in all areas of human resources is required.
· Must have experience with HRIS Systems such as ADP Workforce Now with the ability to run reports and do analysis.
· Must be proficient in MS Office tools and resources, specifically Excel, including PowerPoint, Excel and Word.
· Exceptional conflict management skills and demonstrated emotional intelligence required to work with executive leadership.
· Demonstrated good interpersonal skills to work effectively with all levels of leadership, employees and peers.
· Experience resolving complex employee relations issues.
· Must have demonstrated experience building strong client relationships.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
· Must have the ability to multi-task and be detail focused.
· Excellent understanding of available HR resources and research tools available.
· Excellent Communication skills which include the ability to speak, write and listen in a manner that clarifies issues, promotes closure and delivers information in a clear and concise manner and facilitates good decision making is required.
· Must have the ability to maintain company and employee confidentiality and handle sensitive proprietary information in an appropriate manner.
· A high level of energy is needed for a fast-paced environment where multiple initiatives are happening simultaneously.
· Broad based knowledge of HR operations best practices and compliance is required.
· Must have exceptional consultative skills that combine thought leadership, influential communication, and strategic problem solving to design and drive people-related change (can start with a blank sheet, design a plan/program/process and then systemically execute).
· Strategic thinking - sees the big picture and connects the dots; also dives into the details as necessary.
Travel: Yes, 10% of the time with potential of extended stays as required (one or two weeks).
Security Clearance: Active SECRET, with the ability to obtain Top Secret.
