OCONUS - Frankfurt, German  

As the Mail Clerk, you will scan and prograde mail, dispatch parcels, verify inbound mail and prepare Mail Manifests.

Essential Job Duties:

• Scan/Dispatch Retrograde and Prograde mail: Scan 100% of the prograde mail entering the German Air Mail Terminal (GAMT). Dispatch 100% of all retrograde mail and place a Universal Postal Union (UPU) label on all parcels and pouches. Works as part of a team to ensure that mail is handled appropriately, and no damage is caused during processing.
• Nest mail in Mixed Working Pouch section: GAMT mixed working pouch section is used for the processing mail that is either addressed to APO 09060 or mail that has been identified with a problem (i.e. no EDL attached). Open all pouches and determines where the mail should be directed. Using the AMPS system Nest all mail that has a bar code into appropriate pouch. Upon completion of shift close all pouches as instructed.

Additional Responsibilities:

• May be asked to meet and verify seals on inbound mail trucks as they arrive. As well as prepare DD Form 1372 Mail Manifests for the dispatching of mail to local APO’s within Germany. There may be times when asked to close and seal trailers for dispatch. Complete and file all paperwork as necessary.

Education & Experience:

• High School Diploma
• Experience with Microsoft Office
• Minimum 1 year experience working with US Military Mail.

Other Requirements:

• Must be able to lift up to 70 pounds.
• Must have a German work and residency permit or be part of the European Union.
• Must have an Airport pass.
