Position Details

Stewards Individual Placements (Stewards) provides individuals with service and career opportunities to strengthen communities and preserve our natural resources. Participants work with federal agencies, tribal governments, and nonprofits building institutional capacity, developing community relationships, and supporting ecosystem health. Stewards in partnership with the National Park Service are seeking an individual placement member who will support Interpretation & Education programs in advance of 250th Commemorative programming. This work will be accomplished by an individual placement member who will create interpretive products, such as ranger-led programs, curriculum-based programs and lesson plans, digital media or community outreach related to currently untold stories and topics relevant to A250.

 

Position Responsibilities will include:

·       Create workflow processes for the park’s America 250 preparation and be the primary point of contact for logistics.

·       Create interpretive products that tell Alaska’s story and are relevant to all audiences.

·       Develop content for digital and web media.

·       Assist with the development of education and curriculum materials.

·       Assist in the coordination of park-wide events.

·       Encourage Alaskans to share stories about their pasts and collaborate on ideas for creating the next generation of stewards and beyond.

·       Uncover untold stories f people who shaped our state and highlight lesser-known stories of our ongoing journey as a country.

·       Plan, promote and implement a wide range of public outreach and commemorations that will engage and inspire audiences of all ages.

·       Ensure that community voices are represented in these natural, historical, and cultural stewardship events.

 

 

 

 

Minimum Requirements:

·       Bachelor’s degree

·       Experience using Microsoft productivity suite including Flow, Sharepoint, Teams, and Power Automate

·       Experience with fostering communication and collaboration within diverse teams

·       Must have a valid drivers license and be insurable by Conservation Legacy (over 21 years old and drivers license for at least three years).

·       Applicants must pass a criminal background for both DOI and AmeriCorps eligibility.

·       Must be 18 years or older.

·       Must be a US Citizen or Legal Permanent Resident.

·       High School Diploma/GED

 

Preferred Qualifications

·       Experience working with diverse audiences to facilitate public programming.
