Are you passionate about creating meaningful campus experiences and building a vibrant student community? The Office of Events & Activities is seeking an energetic and creative professional to help shape student life through engaging programs, leadership development, and campus traditions.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, student-centered environment and is excited to make a visible impact on campus culture. As the Coordinator of Student Engagement & Activities, you will play a key role in designing experiences that bring students together, strengthen belonging, and create lasting memories.

About the Office

The Office of Events & Activities serves as the central hub for student involvement and campus programming. We collaborate with campus and community partners to deliver high-impact events, support student organizations, and manage shared campus spaces that foster connection and engagement.

 

Job Duties include, but are not limited to: 

Lead Student Engagement & Programming

  • Advise and mentor the student-led Programming Activities Council, including direct support of the Executive Board.
  • Oversee the planning and execution of campus events, traditions, and student-focused initiatives.
  • Guide student leaders in developing creative, inclusive, and engaging programs.
  • Foster a strong sense of community through innovative event design and participation strategies.

Support & Grow Student Organizations

  • Lead efforts to expand and strengthen student organizations and their leadership.
  • Provide training, advising, and developmental support for student leaders.
  • Educate organizations on university policies, procedures, and best practices.

Create Seamless Event Experiences

  • Coordinate facility reservations for student organizations, ensuring events are set up for success.
  • Collaborate with campus partners to manage logistics, space usage, and event operations.
  • Contribute to large-scale campus programs, including Orientation and major university events.

Contribute to a Dynamic Team

  • Supervise a graphic design student intern.
  • Support operations within the McMahon Centennial Complex.
  • Serve on university committees and represent the Office of Events & Activities.
  • Collaborate with a team that values creativity, innovation, and student connection.

 

Required Skills

  •         Bachelor’s degree.
  •          Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects.
  •          Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  •         Ability to build relationships with diverse student populations and campus partners.
  •          Experience facilitating workshops, training, or group discussions.
  •         Self-starter who can work independently and collaboratively.
  •          Valid driver’s license and ability to be insured under university policy. 

Preferred Qualifications

  •          1–3+ years of experience in student activities, campus programming, or related fields.
  •        Experience advising student organizations or planning events.
  •         Background in higher education, student affairs, or leadership development. 

 

Work Environment & Schedule

This position is highly interactive and event-focused. Evening and weekend work is expected during peak programming times, balanced with flexible scheduling opportunities.

Salary Range: Budgeted at $30,000/annually plus benefits. Opportunity for performance compensation subject to approval and budgetary availability.
