Position Title: Dean, Graduate and Professional Studies
Position Description:
The Dean of the College of Graduate and Professional Studies at Cameron University is responsible for providing administrative and academic leadership in a student-centered environment.
Primary Duties:
Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
· Serves as the chief academic and administrative officer of the College of Graduate and Professional Studies
· Makes recommendations on budget and curriculum as well as appointment, tenure, and promotion of faculty following standard procedures
· Provides guidance and support for the College's participation in campus-wide assessment activities
· Takes an active role in the recruitment and retention of students, faculty, and staff
· Works with departments and accrediting bodies to ensure continued adherence to accreditation standards
· Provides leadership to the College in working with external constituencies

Supervision: The Dean will report to the Vice President for Academic Affairs.
Minimum Qualifications:
· Holds a terminal degree
· Has a record of effective teaching, service, and scholarship consistent with a tenured professor appointment
· Has demonstrated leadership experience
Preferred Qualifications:
· Has a record of administrative achievement at the departmental level or higher
· Has experience in faculty personnel management, budget management, grant writing, and fund raising
· Has experience in working with external constituencies and advisory bodies
· Has experience with any of the accrediting bodies associated with the College of Graduate and Professional Studies and/or the Higher Learning Commission
· Has demonstrated leadership in program development, modification, and assessment practices
Anticipated Salary Range: Commensurate with Experience
