Program Overview:
The Alternative Dispute Resolution System based out of the Administrative Office of the Courts oversees thirteen (13) regional Early Settlement Program offices serving all seventy-seven (77) Oklahoma Counties. The Early Settlement programs are grant programs which provide FREE mediation services to the courts and communities across Oklahoma. Mediators are community volunteers who attend a required training and complete steps to become a certified volunteer. Oklahoma has been recognized as having one of the top community-based, court-connected mediation programs in the nation!
The Early Settlement Mediation – Southwest Program is grant funded by the Supreme Court of Oklahoma, Administrative Office of the Courts and sponsored by Cameron University with the office located at the Cameron campus. The program coordinates mediation services to the following southwestern Oklahoma counties: Beckham, Caddo, Comanche, Cotton, Greer, Harmon, Jackson, Jefferson, Kiowa, Stephens, Tillman, & Washita.
Duties and responsibilities:
The duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
1) maintaining communication with the Program Director regarding office needs
2) responsible for case management of the program
3) working with community volunteer mediators
4) scheduling mediation sessions
5) conduct mediations, as needed.
6) other duties as assigned.
Supervision:
The Office Coordinator reports to the Director of Early Settlement Mediation- Southwest Program.
Duty station:
Cameron University, North Shepler Tower
Position Type:
This is a part-time, 24 hour per week, position. Preferred days and hours are 9am to 2pm Monday- Friday.
Salary Range:
up to $17 per hour.
Minimum Qualifications:
1) High school degree and/or equivalent
2) Demonstrate the ability to work in a team environment
3) Good oral and written communication skills
4) Experience in working in Microsoft Office
5) Demonstrate ability to multi-task and prioritize
6) Ability to self-manage and identify areas of need and complete all day-to-day tasks
