Head Dance Team Coach
Cameron University, and NCAA DII member of the Lone Star Conference, is accepting applications for the position of Head Dance Team Coach. This position is a part-time, non-benefited, 6-month assignment from September through February. Reporting to the Director of Athletics, the Head Dance Team Coach is responsible for the development and implementation of a high quality, non-competitive cheerleading program, which conforms with NCAA and University rules, regulations, and policies.
Duties include, but are not limited to: coaching the dance team; scheduling and running team practices, attending and directing the team at all home basketball events, team fundraising, recruitment, scholarship allocation, and occasional participation in special events such as pep rallies, booster functions, and team camps and tryouts. The Head Dance Team Coach will work closely with the Head Cheerleading Coach to coordinate game-day performances and to support and promote the game-day experience.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
· Knowledge and experience with dance techniques and positive game environments with the ability to choreograph.
· Ability to create team chemistry and be able to handle the daily challenges of college coaching
· Ability to recruit student-athletes
Preferred Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s Degree or higher
· Collegiate head coaching experience
· Knowledge of DII rules, regulations, and philosophy
