JOB DESCRIPTION: A permanent position under the supervision of the Director of Alumni Relations. This position is a super user in the Banner Advancement system, creating and modifying reports in both banner and Cognos systems, systems documentation, records maintenance, use and support of computer-based information systems and reconciliation of funds.
Job duties as Information Services Specialist include but are not limited to:
- Completion of all constituent data entry for alumni, updates, etc.
- Depositing and processing of alumni memberships
- Drafting marketing materials including a quarterly electronic email
- Provide an excellent customer experience to donors and alumni in all the ways we interact with them. Support the department in facilitating great customer service and continually looking for ways to improve procedures and processes.
- Maintain alumni database records, research records and implement NCOA and other sources to keep records up to date for both alumni and donors
- Responsible for departmental account management, reconciliation and operational support, PO’s, processing invoices
- Responsible for alumni mailings including receipting, documents to members, and marketing
- Respond effectively to data requests including reports and mailing lists, designing reports and queries in Cognos and merging reports to consolidate information
- Complete all data entry in Banner, including but not limited to post event/reunion data and documentation to improve tracking of alumni
- Manage alumni membership renewal processing, data tracking and implementation
- Perform the alumni membership acknowledgements in Banner through to completion to maintain solid customer service to alumni regarding their membership status
- Responsible for consolidation of databases into Banner and to work closely with the general advancement staff to deal with a wide variety of functions relating to the development, implementation, maintenance, documentation, use and support of Banner.
- Other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISION: The specialist reports to the Director of Alumni Relations
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent work experience.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
- Excellent and proven experience working in Microsoft Office suite including Excel
- Experience budgeting and reconciling accounts
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task, prioritize, make solid judgment and problem-solve.
- Ability to self-manage and identify areas of need and complete day-to-day activities.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience working in database similar to Banner.
- Specific computer programming and experience in SQL, Banner, Cognos and/or Access database development.
SALARY RANGE: Commensurate with education and experience
