The Student Wellness Center Administrative Assistant supports the operations and staff of the Student Wellness Center. Additionally, the Administrative Assistant works to support all students to ensure their success while attending Cameron. The Administrative Assistant reports to the Director of the Student Wellness Center.

 Job Duties of the Administrative Assistant include but are not limited to:

  • Professionally and efficiently execute Cameron University’s commitment to student success.
  • Provide administrative support to the Director and general office operations, including but not limited to, providing attentive and friendly front-line service while greeting and screening visitors, scheduling appointments, answering phone calls and emails, relaying complete and accurate messages, resolving issues students may have with medical and counseling referrals, and referring students to appropriate resources.
  • Manage and maintain the clerical and organizational duties related to the office, which includes but is not limited to, maintaining inventory of supplies and equipment.
  • Maintain efficient filing systems and databases for administrative areas.
  • Provide medical assistance to students and staff for non-emergent needs.
  • Perform tasks to maintain financial records and accounts, including preparing requisitions, processing invoices, credit card documentation, and assisting the Director with reconciling monthly office budgets and purchasing card receipts.
  • Serve as the office manager to ensure the office runs efficiently and is organized.
  • Serve as the liaison between the SWC and other departments while maintaining appropriate connections with other administrative staff.
  • Prepare, proofread, and maintain office documents, including correspondence, reports, schedules, inventory, and other materials.
  • Respond to inquiries about office services and/or refer to appropriate office or resource, including but not limited to, vision and dental care, STD care, and other community resources.
  • Ensure all students complete and submit the required paperwork for all services offered by the office.
  • Assist in developing, coordinating, and facilitating special office events.
  • Must maintain complete confidentiality at all times.
  • Serve on University committees as assigned.
  • Serve as the content manager for the departmental webpage and Facebook.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned or directed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school degree or equivalent
  • One year of administrative experience
  • Budgeting and reconciliation experience
  • Organizational and computer skills
  • Conscientious, punctual, and able to work proactively
  • Ability to work with diverse populations
  • Ability to professionally coordinate additional services with community providers
  • Thorough knowledge of spelling, punctuation and grammar
  • Demonstrated expertise in database software, complex web-based computer programs, and Microsoft office applications
  • Ability to maintain confidential records and handle complex issues diplomatically and efficiently                                                                

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in any field
  • Experience working in a mental health or medical field
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain an efficient office for a medium level director who must collaborate with deans, faculty, administrative offices, community leaders, students and parents in related disciplines
  • Related experience at an institution of higher education

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 
Ability to lift objects under 15 pounds including using the upper body to raise objects from a lower position to a higher position; ability to reach including extending the arm and hand; ability to stand for short or extended periods of time; ability to engage in repetitive motions including finger dexterity; ability to speak, hear and see. Ability to crouch, climb and walk stairs. 

SALARY:
$24,500.00
