Title IX Coordinator
Administration/Professional
Reports to the President and administers the University's Equal Opportunity, Title IX, and Affirmative Action programs. Develops and implements educational programs regarding protected characteristic/protected class discrimination and sexual harassment prevention, ensuring faculty, staff and students understand their rights, and where applicable, responsibilities under the law. Oversees and coordinates intake and supportive measures. Coordinates and manages the Lawton and Duncan campuses to ensure compliance with applicable policies, procedures, and training requirements in compliance with anti-discrimination laws. Manages the Title IX and EO intake process, and, pursuant to the Memorandum of Understanding between Cameron University and the University of Oklahoma Office of Institutional Equity, manages and/or assists with the grievance process and resolutions of complaints for all campus programs. Meets and communicates regularly with the OU Office of Institutional Equity to ensure the prompt, fair, and impartial resolution of EO and Sexual Harassment and Misconduct complaints. Assigns comprehensive and interactive online training modules for students, faculty, and staff, and tracks completion to ensure compliance with training requirements.
Oversees the data maintenance for EO, Sexual Harassment, and Misconduct complaints involving students, faculty, employees, and third parties. Serves as a Campus Security Authority as outlined by the Clery Act. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s Degree in a legal, educational, or administrative field
· Experience in an educational setting
· Effective communication methods with diverse stakeholders
· Effective complaint and conflict investigation and resolution methods
· Preference may be given to candidates with previous training and knowledge of educational laws
Skills:
· Demonstrated knowledge of applicable laws including but not limited to Title VII, Title IX, Clery Act, VAWA, FERPA, ADA, etc.
· Demonstrated knowledge of and experience using conflict resolution and/or mediation principles.
· Strong organization, planning and problem-solving skills
· Demonstrated strong interpersonal and communication skills
· Discretion, good judgment, and the ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
· Advanced analytical, evaluative, and objective critical thinking skills and the ability to summarize and present information
· Advanced composition and proofreading skills
· Demonstrated ability to remain composed, focused, and neutral in managing conflict in sensitive and highly emotional situations
· Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision to manage multiple tasks and an ongoing and complex caseload
· Ability to develop and present educational programs and/or workshops
· Skills in the use of personal computers and related software applications
· Ability to travel as required for investigations, training, or conferences
