POSTED JOB TITLE:
Distance Learning Coordinator, Duncan Campus

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Distance Learning Coordinator supports all technology at the Duncan campus and the students, faculty, and staff served by this technology. Student learning is Cameron University’s top priority and the coordinator’s job is to ensure an optimal environment for student learning by supporting distance learning classrooms, a computer-based testing center, a student computer lab, and faculty and staff offices.

Responsibilities include:

·        Works independently on the Duncan campus, but in close coordination with Distance Leaning and Information Technology Services staff. Absolute compliance with applicable protocol and policies is required.

o   Maintains, updates, and upgrades all distance learning and computing equipment.

o   Ensures security via appropriate software applications.

o   Assists with diagnostics of problems and repairs on all computing equipment, printers, and Audio/Visual equipment in collaboration with Information Technology Services.

·         Hires, trains, and supervises a staff of Student Facilitators and Inter-campus Couriers to:

o   Facilitate the technical and faculty/student support in distance learning classrooms.

o   Follow an established protocol for handling of all classroom materials and proctoring.

o   Monitor, trouble-shoot, and resolve technology issues on the Duncan campus.

o   Ensure accurate and timely physical delivery of mail between campuses.

·         Provides computer and a variety of software assistance to faculty, staff, and students in labs, classrooms, and in individual or online settings.

·         Maintains door access control.

·         Organizes, coordinates, and facilities faculty and staff trainings on various topics as needed.

·         Maintains an accurate inventory of all distance learning and computing hardware.

·         Monitors and maintains controlled access to the OneNet hub-site and telecommunication room with staff assistance.

·         Prioritizes and composes professional responses to a high volume of time-sensitive electronic mail to ensure unimpeded flow of distance learning classroom materials.

·         Maintains a highly efficient, organized office that provides appropriate accessibility, security, and records management of a high volume of academic documents.

·         Supports technology needs for special functions (including evenings and weekends).

SUPERVISION:

The position will work under the supervision of the Director of the Duncan campus.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

1.       Bachelor’s degree from an accredited high education institution

2.       Work experience with various current operating systems, all core Microsoft Office software, and video conferencing applications

3.       Experience working with A/V cabling such as HDMI, VGA/Component, Composite, and S-Video

4.       Proficiency with digital media

5.       Familiarity with PC hardware/software installation, repair, testing, and troubleshooting

6.       Excellent interpersonal communication (written and oral) and documentation skills

7.       Ability to efficiently compose professional responses to a high volume of electronic mail and ensure timely delivery of important attachments

8.       Ability to appropriately prioritize a high volume of routine and special projects

9.       Demonstrates a service-minded approach in response to all user requests

10.   Propensity to work collaboratively with colleagues across campuses and among various units

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION:

1.       Supervisory experience

2.       Experience in an academic environment

3.       Demonstrated experience in customer service/help desk environment

4.       Experience with current distance learning technologies such as ZOOM and Blackboard

5.       Ability to connect multiple A/V equipment together such as a computer, document camera/visual presenter, LCD monitors, projector, microphone, and speakers

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to lift objects up to 25 pounds including using the upper body to raise objects from a lower position to a higher position; ability to reach including extending the arm and hand; ability to stand for short or extended periods of time; ability to engage in repetitive motions including finger dexterity; ability to speak, hear, and see; ability to crouch, climb, and walk stairs.
