Supervision: The Project Director will report to the Chair of the Department of Education and the Director of Educator Preparation
Job Description: The Project Director is responsible for overseeing the administration, planning, processes, budgeting, evaluation, and implementation of the goals and objectives for the CU Speedway project. The Project Director manages and supervises all CU Speedway staff, and assists alternative/emergency certified (A/E) teachers with official OSDE certification processes. It is the responsibility of the Project Director to know all aspects of the CU Speedway project and serve as the point of contact for inquiries and support for all stakeholders. This position begins July 1, 2024 and ends on January 31, 2025 at a salary of $5,714/month.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Hold a master’s degree in Education or related field
- Hold an Oklahoma standard teaching certificate
- Experience with the Praxis Performance Assessment for Teachers (PPAT)
- Experience with the Oklahoma Subject Area Test (OSAT)
- PK-12 work experience
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Reliable and quick to respond to inquiries
- Ability to maintain accurate records.
- Ability to do some in-state travel
- Knowledge of computer technology and basic software applications
- A positive disposition and outlook and ability to work cooperatively with the public schools.
- A demonstrated commitment to student success
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Public school teaching experience, university or college-level
- Leadership experience with K-12 public schools in Oklahoma
- Grant evaluation experience
- Knowledge of alternative and emergency teacher certification processes
Job Duties for CU Speedway Project Director include, but are not limited to the following:
- managing all budget accounting (e.g. reconciliations, requisitions, purchase orders, and equipment inventory)
- developing and administrating all MOUs with project stakeholders
- assist A/E teachers with Cameron University admissions (e.g. advising/enrolling teachers)
- managing contractual processes associated with the project
- coordinate project processes with Department of Education Chair and the Director of Educator Preparation
- create surveys and other data collection processes
- analyzing and reporting quantitative and qualitative data analysis
- purchasing and distributing A/E teaching equipment
- monitor A/E teacher dispositions through surveys and mentor feedback
- serve as front-line technical support contact
- attend recruiting efforts as needed
- provide quarterly reports and a final project report
- ensure the goals and objectives of the project are accomplished
