Prepare and/or maintain systems, programming, and operations documentation, procedures, and methods including user manuals and reference manuals. Develop, write, and edit materials for IT related reports, manuals, and software and hardware documentation. Interface with users, specialists, analysts, and application developers to obtain background information on IT technologies, methods, and standards. Organizes materials and completes writing assignment according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style and terminology. Apply documentation to new and already developed source code that will facilitate any changes to the code in the future as additional upgrades become necessary. Review technical material and recommend revisions or changes in scope and content. Work with programmers to develop help screens and source code documentation. Centrally maintain and manage all software documentation. Proficient in the use of various software products to include Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and SharePoint Designer.
Required Skills
MS Office, Windows, MS Visio, SnagIt, Adobe Framemaker, Adobe RoboHelp, Adobe Captivate and/or Camtasia, Web Conferencing software, effective organizational, multi-tasking, presentation, and communcation skills, bondable, detail and results-oriented.
Required Experience
2+ years of college and/or equivalent experience with writing software documentation (functional requirements, UI mock-ups, release notes, procedure guides), working knowledge of SDLC methodologies, and throrough understanding of iterative development cycles.
