Established in 1932, by Robert Tyre Jones Jr. and Clifford Roberts, Augusta National is consistently recognized as one of the finest clubs in the world. Home of the Masters, which is the first "major" golf tournament of the year, Club facilities include a championship golf course and Par 3 Course, a member's golf shop, two primary Tournament shops, nine satellite shops, warehousing and checkstand operations.
Serving as an integral part of the Club's executive team this newly created position will report to the Senior Director, Business Affairs. The Director of Merchandising is responsible for the overall management of the merchandising operation, creating product designs, contract negotiations, product procurement, pricing, logistics, inventory management, and financial responsibility. This individual will also assist in facilitating the Masters Tournament which includes but is not limited to all retail operations, construction of temporary satellite shops, sales and the hiring and training of over 500 employees.
The Director of Merchandising position requires a seasoned industry professional with a tremendous eye for detail, a strong financial and business acumen, excellent leadership abilities and a strong work ethic. This truly unique opportunity requires a minimum 8 years of merchandising experience with at least 5 years in a supervisory role, and a Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing or related field. International travel is also required. Augusta National is open seven days a week from October through May. During the "off season" planning and preparations are ongoing so this is a year round position.
Augusta has a very favorable climate, is in close proximity to Atlanta as well as the ocean and mountains and has one of the lowest costs of living of any city in the country.

- Ability to develop, articulate and deliver on all initiatives and goals, with the talent to implement training and mentoring programs that allows monitoring of every single aspect of the merchandising operation and quality delivery system.
- Ability to oversee a world class sporting event retail operation which includes making major purchasing recommendations and decisions.
- The organizational skill to select and develop the required systems necessary to manage several hundred employees during the Masters Tournament.
- Responsibility for hiring, discipline and supervision of all department staff under his/her direction;
- Shall annually prepare operating and capital budgets. Once approved it shall be the Director of Merchandising's responsibility to manage these budgets within fiscally and ethically sound business practices.
