Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Manager, Security - Full Time, Days - Security - - 09:00 AM - 05:00 PM Monday - Friday.

In this role, the successful candidate Responsible for managing the activities of staff and supervision of security personnel

Job Responsibilities:

  • Participates in the departments performance improvement activities Maintains patient/employee confidentiality in the management of information Observes the Health Care Systems compliance policies Participates in the development of other staff members Meets regulatory licensure and annual health assessment requirements Identifies learning strengths and needs Utilizes learning resources Demonstrates a professional courteous and respectful attitude in dealing with patients families and significant others Displays courtesy tact and patience during interactions with all members of the hospital and extended community May be required to perform other duties as assigned or perform other duties when necessary
  • Supervises and/or coordinates the investigations of Incidents or thefts of property belonging to the hospital
    patients visitors and employees
  • Conducts operational reviews aimed at improving the security in a given area
  • Coordinates the crime prevention and security education program
  • Develops themes and information for media programs/presentations
  • Prepares reports regarding the results of investigative and crime prevention efforts
  • Provides suggestions and recommendation for revisions of Security Department and Hospital Administrative
    policies and procedures
  • Oversee training initiatives as it relates to investigative techniques for Security Department personnel to maximize information gathering during the initial response phase to missing property/theft reports
  • Maintains liaison with law enforcement agencies
  • Keeps current on security technologies as they apply to standard and covert investigations
  • Implement and oversee a loss prevention program to prevent and deter criminal activity at the medical center
  • Work with security operations to maximize results and to keep informed of incidents as they occur
  • Review the incident and theft report log daily provide a course of action to implement follow up track through
    completion assigned cases
  • Conduct prompt thorough investigations of thefts and incidents that occur on campus as well as offsite locations
    when required
  • Develop sound investigative techniques to include interviewing maintaining investigative notes and case files
  • For the purposes of further investigation analyze data to identify patterns of incidents through the use of the
    electronic incident reporting system and thus prevent recurrence
  • Identify and apprehend persons who commit crimes within the medical center or who are present on campus with no legitimate or valid reason
  • Develop measures to help prevent access of unauthorized individuals
  • Develop information on illegal activities within the medical center
  • Conduct weekly inspections of a particular area of the medical center and report on security observations and vulnerabilities
  • Develop plans of action to prevent future problems including proactive measures to reduce thefts and missing
    property
  • Maintains current on security technologies as they apply to standard and covert investigations

 

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Current and valid NYS Drivers License Bachelor s Degree Minimum of 3 years supervisory experience and knowledge of policies procedures and laws required Good appearance oral and written communication skills.

Required Licenses: Driver's License

Long Island Community Hospital provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $65,611.00 - $111,343.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
