La Sierra University is seeking a skilled and results-driven Email Marketing Manager to oversee our digital communication with prospective and current students. The ideal candidate is strategic, data-focused, and highly experienced in building impactful email, SMS and messenger campaigns that support student recruitment and engagement.

Duties and Responsibilities:

·       Lead the development, execution, and optimization of email marketing campaigns across the prospective student journey

·       Build and manage automations based on enrollment deadlines, calendar events, and audience behaviors using platforms such as MailChimp, ActiveCampaign, or similar tools

·       Create and manage specific SMS trigger campaigns based around time, actions or behaviors

·       Create and manage messenger-based communications using platforms like ManyChat, Facebook Messenger, Instagram, and WhatsApp

·       Collaborate with design and creative teams to produce branded, purpose-driven content that educates, entertains, and drives prospective students to take action

·       Monitor and improve campaign performance through data analysis using tools such as Google Analytics and CRM reports

·       Create reports, dashboards, and performance summaries to support strategic marketing decisions with Google Looker Studio or email platform reporting. 

·       Continuously test and refine workflows, segmentation strategies, and messaging to improve engagement and conversion rates

·       Other additional duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

·       Minimum of three years’ experience in email marketing within ecommerce, lead generation, or educational organizations

·       Proficiency in CRMs, Excel, segmentation, list hygiene, and automation tools

·       Experience in integrating AI tools into email campaigns to write personalized emails based on personal characteristics or information relevant to the audience

·       Experience using popular email marketing platforms including MailChimp, ActiveCampaign, or similar software

·       Experience in SMS and conversational automation with tools like Twillo, ManyChat, ,Facebook Messenger, Instagram, and WhatsApp

·       Proven track record  managing high-volume campaigns with 100,000-plus list size or over one million emails sent per year

·       Strong understanding of Google Analytics and data analysis to improve email performance

·       Ability to coordinate with internal teams and translate strategy into action with precision and creativity.

 

Preferred Experience:

·       Background in ecommerce, lead generation, or higher education email marketing

·       Familiarity with enrollment and admissions cycles and calendar-based automation

·       Knowledge of audience behavior and journey mapping for prospective students

Location and Culture:
This is an in-person position located at La Sierra University in Riverside, California. The Email Marketing Manager will be a key member of a fast-paced performance marketing team dedicated to delivering strategic communications that support the admissions department and increase student enrollment. 

Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree (B. A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university; and one to three years related professional experience in content generation; professional experience in marketing and/or communications strongly preferred; professional experience in a higher education setting preferred. 

Language Ability:
Strong copywriting skills for marketing to prospective students, parents, alumni, and other diverse audiences, with the ability to be concise, accurate, and interesting, with a minimum of editing required. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public (good customer relation skills). Ability to edit professionally and tactfully.

Math Ability:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability:
Good research skills, both for developing original stories and for finding and expanding on existing content.

Employees must have good people skills for creating relationships with clients and working productively within the department as well as seasoned judgment that will earn the respect of campus leaders.

Salary: $68,640.00 plus, generous benefits
