Assistant/Associate Professor/Director of Assessment & CTC Liaison, Tenure Track, Department of Education and Leadership

La Sierra University’s Department of Education and Leadership invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty/director of assessment position to commence on July 1, 2025. Applicants will be considered for appointment as either Assistant or Associate Professor, depending on their qualifications. Candidates must demonstrate potential for—or an established record of—excellence in research, teaching, and CTC-related matters and meet the University’s criteria for the corresponding faculty rank.
The department offers a range of academic programs, including the Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Liberal Studies, the Master of Teaching (M.A.T.), the Master of Arts (M.A.), the Specialist in Education (Ed.S.), and the Doctor of Education (Ed.D.). It also participates in the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) program in Leadership.
The successful candidate will teach two to three courses per quarter, conduct original research, maintain a robust scholarly agenda, advise students, serve on various academic and administrative committees, and mentor graduate students through their research and dissertation processes. The candidate will also be the CTC liaison, oversee assessment activities, and support various state accreditation efforts. Preferred areas of expertise include elementary education, secondary education, program evaluation/assessment, and special education. Additionally, some summer teaching is expected annually.
La Sierra University assistant and associate faculty salaries range from $68,640 to $76,200, respectively. Salary is determined based on established norms and will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The compensation package includes an excellent array of benefits, featuring health, vision, and dental coverage. Qualifications
Preference will be given to candidates who hold a doctoral degree or are near completion at the time of application, have teaching experience at the K-12 or higher education levels, and demonstrate an established record of professional and scholarly achievements. In addition, expertise in statistical methods and data management is highly desirable. CTC-related training or experience is also desirable. A CA teaching credential is required.
