Biology Student Lab Prep Teaching Assistant (TA3) Sp’25 BIOL446L Human Gross Anatomy Lab

Position Summary

In larger or complex laboratory courses, the Laboratory Preparation Teaching Assistant (TA3) helps the instructor with preparation, set-up, restock, and take-down/clean-up of laboratory classes. This also includes proper cleaning of lab ware and returning to the designated storage areas in the lab, lab prep areas or stockroom. 

In the specific context of Human Gross Anatomy, the TA3 is the general housekeeper and organizer for the anatomy dissection room. This includes correct trash and biohazard waste storage or removal, instrument cleaning and storage, cadaver preservation fluid mixing and distribution, and table / deck / and floor cleaning as needed. The TA3 also observes and helps students comply with cadaver terms of use.

Applicants should have taken and passed BIOL131/L & 132L (A&P 1 & 2) or BIOL446/L Human Gross Anatomy with a grade “B” or higher, but this requirement may be waived by the instructor.

The course instructor is the direct supervisor, and the person who makes the final hire decision.

This lab meets twice weekly, and the TA3 must commit to meeting duties as required on both lab days.The schedule may vary as needed for open lab times or practical lab exams. Discussion of the work schedule should be initiated with the instructor during the application interview 

• Must be a La Sierra University student currently enrolled in the Winter 2025 quarter
• Should be able to start on or before March 31
• Must be able to work for lab set-ups and take downs
