Job Summary
This position is responsible for establishing and maintaining articulation agreements between La Sierra University and other
institutions, updating the transfer equivalency tables in the SIS, providing backup for incoming transfer credit processing, and
performing prospective student evaluation. Reports to the Registrar.


Duties and Responsibilities
-Establishes articulation agreements between La Sierra University and California Community Colleges or other partner
institutions in consultation with the Registrar and relevant academic entities at La Sierra University.
-Works collaboratively with the Transfer Credit Evaluator to map and enter transfer course equivalencies into the SIS database
tables.
-Conducts and annual review of the course equivalency tables within the SIS.
-Maintains an online listing of C-ID equivalent course articulation with La Sierra University courses to display on the Records
website.
-Provides back-up transfer credit processing for the Transfer Credit Evaluator during peak processing times, including during
the Summer Quarter.
-Reviews incoming transfer course eligibility for prospective students and provides tentative articulation reports showing
course transferability to La Sierra University.
-Processes off campus registration requests to determine transfer course equivalency for current La Sierra students.
-Assists the Registrar in the evaluation of student athletic eligibility on a term-by-term basis in collaboration with the Athletics
-Department and Faculty Athletics Representative.
-Assists with setup during graduation weekend.
-Assumes additional responsibilities as the Registrar directs.

Education/Experience:
Bachelors degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university or minimum three years of college in combination with at least
two years related experience and/or training in a higher education student service office. Must have previous experience working
with an integrated student information system (Banner preferred) and student records, knowledge of the rules, regulations, and
laws regarding confidentiality of records; excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills; strong organizational skills and
attention to detail; ability to prioritize and pursue multiple projects simultaneously to meet deadlines; and ability to work as a part
of a team.

 


Language Ability:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental
regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information
and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public, as this position frequently
communicates complex information.

 


Math Ability:
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid
geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical
situations.

 

Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization
exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.


Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of the Windows environment including Microsoft Office,
Google Suite, and the Banner computer systems. Ability to operate a computer, calculator, facsimile, copier and other standard
office equipment.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Supervises a student worker in conjunction with the Transfer Credit Evaluator.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and risk of
electrical shock.

The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift
and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision,
depth perception and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use
hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand and reach with hands and arms. The
employee is occasionally required to walk; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

 


Other Demands:
Candidate must have strong attention to detail and follow-through skills. Employee will also need excellent organizational and
communication skills and the ability to establish collaborative agreements with counterparts at local and partner institutions. The
ability to understand the importance of and uphold confidentiality regarding records and familiarity with the process and policies
of La Sierra University are important.


Wage Range: $19.51 to $22.50 per hour, plus generous benefits
