Associate Director of Accessibility and Testing Services

The Associate Director of Disability and Testing Services is responsible for managing and coordinating services for students with disabilities, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and overseeing testing services to support student success. This role requires a strong commitment to accessibility, advocacy, and providing a supportive environment for all students.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Implement and revise strategies, consistent with Section 504 mandates, the Americans with Disabilities Act Amendments Act (ADAAA), and other State and Federal laws and regulations 
  2. Review medical documentation and conduct intake assessments to determine student eligibility for accommodations and services by participating in the interactive process
  3. Assist students in identifying and implementing appropriate accommodations.
  4. Maintain accurate, confidential records and advocate for students by collaborating with faculty and administration.
  5. Advocate with faculty and administration on behalf of students with disabilities
  6. Coordinate and administer exams with accommodations, ensuring integrity and security.
  7. Oversee placement tests and assessments, managing testing spaces and scheduling.
  8. Administer English Proficiency exams, CLEP, BYU Flats and NYU language exams.
  9. Administer ALEKS math placement, review footage, and input placement scores.
  10. Ensure compliance with testing standards and maintain eligibility for testing spaces.
  11. Collaborate with the bursar's office to manage testing fees and update relevant information on the university’s website.
  12. Participate in campus outreach to promote services and accommodations.
  13. Engage in ongoing professional development to remain current with best practices.

 

Required Qualifications:

·                        Experience in disability services, academic accommodations, or related areas.

·                        Strong knowledge of Section 504, ADAAA, and other relevant laws.

·                        Excellent organizational, communication, and advocacy skills.

·                        Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information.

 

Education/Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in a related field from four-year college or university. Master’s degree preferred (e.g., Education, Counseling, Psychology, Social Work); and one to two years’ experience working with accessibility services.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and climb or balance.

$68,640.00 plus generous benefits
