Enrollment Services Evening Telecounselor

 

Exceptional student with good interpersonal skills needed to call, email or text potential students in the afternoon and evening hours. The telecounselor will be informing students of upcoming enrollment events, inviting students to visit the campus, and requesting fulfillment of admission requirements. Must be able to proficiently operate a PC. Must possess a basic understanding of how to operate within a database. Must possess excellent communication skills and the ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality. Must work efficiently and effectively with several other coworkers in close proximity.

 

• Make phone calls to prospective students on weekday evenings, answer general information questions
• Plan and help with enrollment events. Example: Open House, University Experience
• Be present on campus to engage with prospective and current students

• PC, Mac and Microsoft Office operation knowledge
• Telephone and operating systems knowledge
• General knowledge of campus life
• Knowledgeable about academic departments/majors

• Must be a current La Sierra University student
• Superior interpersonal skills (the ability to interact with anyone and begin a conversation)
• Event Planning (be able to lead and organize events with the background assistance of the Enrollment Team)
• Reliable and punctual (early is on time and on time is late)
• Flexible (able to adapt to last minute changes)
• Self-motivated (will take on tasks that are needed, without being asked)
• Organized (able to balance work and school)
• Innovating (able to throw out ideas and brainstorm in a group)
• Positive attitude (ability to stay positive when situations change - bring up the mood of the group)
• Communication skills (able to communicate with other students, prospective students, parents, and faculty and staff)
