The proposed College of Osteopathic Medicine at Xavier University (XUCOM) invites applications for the Director of Medical Student Services (DMSS) to coordinate the activities of the academic affairs and student affairs areas within the COM. Direct reports will include up to three Medical Student Services Coordinators. This position works closely with the Assistant Director of Financial Aid, Accommodation Coordinator, University’s Medical & Mental Health Services and with the XUCOM Associate Deans. The DMSS is involved in strategic planning, and leads coordinating student health and wellness, student retention, student clubs, and all activities related to student orientation and graduation.
This position reports to the COM Senior Associate Dean of Academic Affairs with a dotted line to the Assistant Vice President for Leadership and Engagement in regards to student organizations. This position also works closely with University Student Affairs in terms of student care and support integration.

• All activities related to XUCOM Orientation and Graduation
• Response to Students in Crisis
• Student Organizations
• Student Leadership Development
• Student Security, Safety, Health, and Wellness
• Financial Aid and Debt Counseling
• Student Support for Accommodations
Supports the following activities
• Student Professionalism and Conduct
• Career Counseling
• Student Surveys
• Health Insurance
Collaboration with COM Leadership
• Collaborate with the Dean’s Leadership Team to ensure accreditation compliance
• Partner with the Associate Deans to identify trends in student performance and medical education to make recommendations for policy, process, and programming changes
• Creates and manages financial budget for all Medical Student Services programs
• Contributes to the Mission of the college
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s degree in education, business or other related field required
- Doctorate (EdD, PhD) in education preferred
- 3-5 years in a medical school setting
