Reports To: Associate Director, Auxiliary Services

Position Summary

The Parking Manager is a hands-on leader responsible for overseeing Xavier University’s campus parking operations. This is a full-time, salaried position that combines fieldwork and office responsibilities to ensure that parking enforcement, visitor services, and operational functions run smoothly every day. The Manager supervises staff and student staff, provides customer service, and manages daily business operations while maintaining a visible presence across campus.

Key Responsibilities

·        Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise staff and student staff.

·        Conduct patrols, issue citations, and ensure consistent enforcement of University parking regulations.

·        Staff the Welcome Guard Building as a lead point of contact for visitors, delivering excellent customer service.

·        Oversee parking permits, citations, and appeals processes.

·        Troubleshoot system issues and coordinate with vendors as needed.

·        Reconcile accounts, process invoices, and maintain accurate financial and operational records.

·        Track parking utilization, citation activity, and program metrics to support decision-making.

·        Collaborate and coordinate with campus partners on parking and traffic needs for events and conferences.

·        Identify and implement improvements in efficiency, service delivery, and staff development.

Qualifications

·        Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s preferred.

·        Minimum 2 years’ experience in parking services, operations, or related field.

·        Supervisory experience strongly preferred.

·        Strong interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

·        Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with parking/citation software a plus.

·        Valid driver’s license required.

Working Conditions

·        Mix of outdoor fieldwork (patrolling, booth coverage, visitor interaction) and office-based responsibilities (reporting, reconciliation, administrative oversight).

·        Frequent walking, standing, and customer interaction.

·        Requires flexibility for occasional evenings and weekends to support events.
