Xavier Athletics seeks applications for a full-time Assistant Coach, Women’s Lacrosse. This position assists the Women’s Lacrosse Head Coach with on-field development and overall strategy of the intercollegiate women’s lacrosse program relative to successful athletic performance, recruitment and retention of student-athletes, and providing the necessary leadership for a positive competitive environment for student-athletes. It is important to our program that assistant coaches possess a growth mindset and are confident in their personal identity and are able to mode those qualities to our student-athletes.

 

Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree and Collegiate Women’s Lacrosse Playing Experience.

 

Preferred Abilities:

Skills, characteristics and experience:

·        Possess a philosophy of coaching and education that fits the mission of Xavier University and the mission of Xavier Athletics

·        Ability to interact and represent Xavier well with a diverse constituency of students, faculty, alumni and media

·        Experience with a 360-degree sports performance model of coaching preferred

·        In-game decision making experience; quick and decisive evaluation of player personnel and strategic need.

 Administrative:

·        Keeps all compliance logs and relevant documentation with respect to BIG EAST Conference and NCAA rules

·        Assists head coach with daily tasks

·        Implement social media strategy with head coach and director of operations

·        Manage student workers to facilitate practice readiness—filming, setup, and breakdown of practice

·        Assists with community service events throughout the year, championing student engagement and building relationships within the community.

 Conducts practices and games:

·        Provides leadership and guidance necessary for a positive competitive environment for the Student Athletes

·        Organizes team meetings for distribution of Athletic information forms, sports information forms, NCAA Student Athlete statements and drug policy

·        Responsible for focused skill and strategic development in any of the following categories: draw circle/goalies/offense/defense

·        Conduct film sessions and scouts for practices and games

 

The employee agrees to have knowledge of and compliance with NCAA, BIG EAST Conference, and Athletic Department rules and regulations.  The employee must have a valid driver’s license and meet the requirements for insurability under Xavier University’s policy.
