Xavier University’s Division of Student Affairs seeks qualified applicants for the position of Student Involvement Coordinator. This position is a twelve-month, non-exempt role that directs administrative operations for the Office of Student Involvement with emphasis on supporting the student organization enterprise of 150+ registered student groups. The ideal candidate enjoys a frontline role, working directly with college students, overseeing and enforcing related campus policies with student organization leaders, facilitating trainings, managing budgets, and has a strong attention to detail. This position reports to the Director of Student Engagement (anticipated) in the Division of Student Affairs.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES include but not limited to:
- Acts as first point-of-contact for student organization-related questions and problem-solving for event planning, financial processes, and budgetary management.
- Administers departmental policies and related processes connected to space reservations and our student organization / event management software.
- Facilitates student transportation services, such as the university’s partnerships with Lyft, METRO/SORTA, as well as airport and shopping shuttles.
- Directs the administrative operations for the Office of Student Involvement, including serving as a primary purchaser with our university procurement system, managing the office space, and serving as a liaison with IT and maintenance as needed for departmental operations.
The Student Involvement Coordinator is as a member of the Office of Student Involvement, Gallagher Student Center and Commuter Services team and engages in departmental programming and decision-making. In addition to supporting our student organizations, the department facilitates campus activities and leadership programs, manages the Gallagher Student Center, oversees new student orientation and transition programs, advises the Student Government Association, supports commuter and off-campus students, and coordinates processes and policies for many available campus resources.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 3-5 years of related experience
- Advanced written and oral communication
- Experience with event planning and budget management are preferred qualifications
This position will start on July 7, 2025.
